The choice of an electronic organ for a church or musical venue need no longer be a choice for the second best, because the best tone generation technology with a properly designed and positioned loudspeaker system can produce all the thrill, splendour, magic and mystery of  an internationally first class pipe organ.

The same instrument can be built as a quite outstanding electronic installation.  It thus becomes affordable to have most exciting instruments.

Speaking in terms of cost in the year of installation. An electronic organ capable of  producing the same quality and effect of a new pipe organ will cost 20--25% of the latter.  After 20--25 and again at 40 years the pipe organ will require about 20% of its purchase price to be spent on cleaning and restoration.  Leather work may well require total replacement after 60 years, at which point one needs to consider the first installation's financial life to have ended.  The electronic organ may require its purchase price to be spent on updating technology and refurbishment of the audio system approximately every 20 years.  So over the first 60 years the pipe organ will cost about 160% of its purchase price, whereas an electronic organ will cost 60% of the purchase price of the new pipe organ.

This gives the great advantage that all of the organ can be used all of the time.
